'He could make a mockery of his mark' - trainer Olly Murphy joins our expert panel

Who wins the Paddy Power Gold Cup (2.20 Cheltenham)?

Jamie Benson, Tote Protektorat’s presence means plenty of well-handicapped horses are out of the weights, which narrows the field significantly. This is the Trifecta rollover race so I’ll be perming up those at the front of the market, the Paul Nicholls pair and Harry Derham’s Imagine featuring heavily, and including Ga Law to come second or third.

Alex Fussey, racecourse commentator Paul Nicholls has followed the same path with Ginny’s Destiny as with last year’s winner Stage Star and I’m hoping the trainer can land the prize once again. He has the same official mark (155) as last year’s winner and Harry Cobden no doubt will try to dictate and get Ginny’s Destiny into a great jumping rhythm, which has been the key in his three previous course successes.

Olly Murphy, trainer I fancy Ga Law, who had a lovely comeback run at Chepstow. He's 13lb higher in the weights than when he won the race two years ago but he's clearly been trained for it and Jamie Snowden and Gavin Sheehan have made a good start to the season.
