JPR One shines on West Country Weekend but Grade 1 options may prove tougher to crack

Badger Beer winner Al Dancer (Racing Post Rating 162) returned the standout figure on the card at Wincanton on Saturday, the veteran, with the assistance of Callum Pritchard's 7lb claim, posting a small personal best.

A horse with an excellent record when fresh – he has won first time up in six of the last seven seasons – he will not be the easiest to place when his handicap mark is revised on the back of Saturday.

While not quite matching the rating of Al Dancer, JPR One (159+), a winner at Exeter in Friday's Bet MGM Haldon Gold Cup, looks the chaser to take out of the two day West Country Weekend.
