In a strong field for the Irish Champion Stakes, it was Economics who finished with his head in front, getting the better of Auguste Rodin by a neck, with Shin Emperor completing the places.

The time of the race was good and the race had a strong form look to it with the consistent Ghostwriter running to the same level as at York, achieving a Racing Post Rating of 120. Los Angeles in fourth also backs the form up, running to an RPR of 121 for a third consecutive race.

Auguste Rodin put in another good performance but didn't quite match his best with an RPR of 123. Economics achieved a career-best RPR of 124+ with a game performance under Tom Marquand. Auguste Rodin headed Economics in the final furlong, before Economics found more to win going away at the line.
