Beverley very hopeful of beating weather for Saturday's ITV meeting
Officials at Beverley are confident Saturday's Two Year Old Trophy meeting, which is due to be shown on ITV, will go ahead following the cancellation of Wednesday's fixture at the course.
Parts of the track were described as waterlogged on Wednesday afternoon, but the weather is forecast to improve in the build-up to a fixture also featuring the Hilary Needler Trophy.
Sally Iggulden, chief executive and clerk of the course at Beverley, said: "We think we'll be fine for Saturday as the forecast is very promising. After today, it's due to be dry and warm up, so we're very hopeful."
Conditions are set to be testing for the meeting, which will form part of ITV Racing's coverage alongside Haydock and Chester.
"As well as the Bullet, the Hilary Needler is a race we're really known for and for it to be on ITV1 as well is a real treat." Iggulden added.
"Liberty Beach won the Hilary Needler when it was last run two years ago and the Two Year Old Trophy also always throws up some good winners.
"The team at ITV are always very good at helping to support the small racecourses and we're really looking forward to having them here."
Wednesday's meetings at Newton Abbot and Gowran Park were also called off due to the recent wet spell.
