Three horses to look out for this evening
North, South, Britain or Ireland, there is something for everyone this evening with Flat fixtures at Hamilton, Newbury and Tipperary. Here are three horses it could be worth making a note of.
Riponian
6.00 Hamilton
On recent form this seven-year-old has a lot to do, having only beaten two rivals in his last three runs. He is also unproven at the 1m5f trip, but does have the assistance of Catherine Walton.
Amateur rider Walton partnered the winner of the race in 2012 and 2013, and the winning rider is presented with the Saints & Sinners Challenge Cup.
Massayan
6.40 Tipperary
Dermot Weld knows how to improve horses with age, and this four-year-old signed off last season with two wins.
He does not win by far, but his half-sister Massinga was just as progressive, winning a Listed race when completing her own hat-trick.
Deeds Not Words
8.30 Newbury
As a younger horse, Deeds Not Words was running off ratings in the 90s, but he lost his way and after a spell in Ireland with Johnny Levins, returned to Britain and Michael Wigham off a mark of 57.
But the six-year-old has rediscovered his fire and is now chasing a four-timer after wins at Kempton, Wolverhampton and Brighton.
