The St Leger meeting and Irish Champions Weekend make this a week to savour
Monday
A busy start to the week with Flat meetings at Lingfield and Leicester, complemented by an eight-race evening card at Windsor.
There is jumps action to look forward to from Perth, where a competitive 2m4f handicap chase (3.40) headlines the card. The sole Irish offering of the day comes from Galway, which hosts the first card of a two-day meeting.
Tuesday
A jam-packed afternoon of action with Catterick, Newton Abbot, Goodwood and Punchestown all hosting competitive meetings.
There is more action from Galway, including the Listed Oyster Stakes (6.35), while Newcastle hosts an all-weather card to whet the appetite of racing fans ahead of the first day of the St Leger meeting.
Wednesday
All eyes turn to Doncaster for the first installment of the track's four-day St Leger meeting, while the return of paying spectators to a racecourse for the first time since March is an added bonus.
The Stuart Williams-trained Breathtaking Look goes for back-to-back wins in the highlight of the afternoon, the Group 3 Sceptre Fillies' Stakes (3.15).
Kempton, Uttoxeter and Wolverhampton are the day's other British meetings while, in Ireland, Cork and Punchestown stage racing.
Thursday
The St Leger meeting begins to hot up in earnest with three successive races with a combined value of £340,000.
The Group 2 May Hill Stakes (2.10), the £200,000 2-Y-O Stakes (2.40) and the Group 2 Park Hill Stakes (3.15) make this an afternoon of action not to miss on Town Moor.
Haydock, Chepstow and Navan are the afternoon's support acts, with a seven-race meeting at Chelmsford the only evening action.
Friday
Another exciting day at Doncaster sees the running of the Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes (2.40), the Listed Flying Scotsman Stakes (3.45) as well as the Group 2 Doncaster Cup (3.15).
The likes of Red Verdon, Nayef Road and Spanish Mission are among those with entries in the latter-named.
Sandown, Chester and Salisbury host the remainder of the day's action in Britain.
Saturday
Where to start? In Ireland it is the opening day of Irish Champions Weekend at Leopardstown where a collection of the best over a mile and a quarter will clash in the Irish Champion Stakes (4.10).
It could well turn into another battle between Ghaiyyath and star filly Magical, with unexposed types such as Alpine Star and Fancy Blue other intriguing possibles.
The Group 1 Matron Stakes (3.10), Group 2 Champions Juvenile Stakes (3.40), and the Group 2 Boomerang Mile (4.45) make this a card to savour.
But do not forget Doncaster, where a crowd of more than 6,000 could be present to watch Britain's oldest Classic, the Pertemps St Leger (3.35). Among the favourites to claim the spoils this year are Pyledriver, Santiago and the Owen Burrows-trained Hukum.
There is additional action from Musselburgh, Chester and Lingfield, while Fontwell hosts the day's sole jumps meeting.
Sunday
The Curragh hosts the second day of Irish Champions Weekend and there are no fewer than four Group 1 races to enjoy.
The Derrinstown Flying Five Stakes (3.10), the Moyglare Stud Stakes (3.40), the Vincent O'Brien National Stakes (4.10) and the Irish St Leger (4.40) make this one of the finest Flat cards anywhere in the world all year.
There is a more sedate offering in Britain, with action from Bath, Chelmsford and Wolverhampton.
