'The situation isn't going away' - Dan Skelton backs O'Brien's call for change

Dan Skelton has called for urgent action by racing's authorities to combat the lack of runners at British jumps fixtures, stating "something’s got to happen, and it needs to happen now."

Skelton was adding his voice to the call for a reduction in summer jumps fixtures in light of a record low in field sizes last month, in which 28.26 per cent of races had five runners or fewer.

The figure is at its highest since BHA records began in 1995, with average June field sizes dropping to below seven runners.
