The cost to BHA's reputation might take longer to resolve

As errors of judgement go, as BHA chief executive Nick Rust last year described the use of Matthew Lohn on the disciplinary panel, it has proved to be a very costly mistake.

The £425,000 of costs racked up over the issue is income derived from racecourses, owners and British racing's participants that could have been used to benefit the sport.
