'We’ll be looking to Haydock' – Corbetts Cross an eyecatching entry for Betfair and King George with some big names absent

Corbetts Cross is likely to attempt to become just the second winner of the Betfair Chase to be trained in Ireland after featuring among 18 entries on Tuesday for this month’s Grade 1. 

Trained by Emmet Mullins for JP McManus, Corbetts Cross was one of four Irish horses entered for the Betfair, a race A Plus Tard won for Irish trainer Henry de Bromhead in 2021.

Corbetts Cross was also one of 24 horses entered for next month’s Ladbrokes King George VI Chase at Kempton, with the strength in depth of Irish jump racing showcased by 14 entries from the country, eight of whom are trained by Willie Mullins.
