British racing's regulatory body should limit the number of horses trained by yards according to Derby-winning trainer Marcus Tregoning, who fears fans are being turned off of the sport.

Tregoning was speaking in the wake of news that Lambourn trainers Joe Tuite and Harry Dunlop would wind down their operations this year.

That led to Ed Walker imploring those in power to take action in his column in Wednesday's Racing Post Weekender – sentiments welcomed by National Trainers Federation chief executive Paul Johnson.
