Altior, one of jump racing's star performers in the last decade, has been retired after Nicky Henderson announced the decision on Monday. Tributes have poured in for the ten-time Grade 1 winner who won back-to-back renewals of the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in 2018 and 2019.

The 11-year-old star two-miler will be enjoying his retirement at the home of Mick Fitzgerald, who was one of many to pay tribute to Patricia Pugh's stalwart on social media on Monday.
