John Hooper, managing director of Sid Hooper bookmakers, believes there is a bright future for the on-course betting market following his purchase of 106 pitches from Ladbrokes and Coral.
Hooper, the third generation of his family to run the London-based firm, is understood to have approached GVC Holdings, parent company of Ladbrokes and Coral, about buying the sites, with the deal between the parties announced on Tuesday.
