'She's the best mare in the country' - Sherwood plotting festival route for star

Oliver Sherwood described Queens Gamble as the "best mare in the country" as he prepares the leading Cheltenham Festival hope for a Listed mares' bumper at Market Rasen next month.

The four-year-old is 8-1 joint-favourite with some bookmakers alongside the Gordon Elliott-trained King Of Kingsfield for the Weatherbys Champion Bumper after winning two starts at Cheltenham by a combined 18 lengths.

Queens Gamble missed her engagement in a Listed race at Huntingdon on Sunday and Sherwood is eyeing the race run in memory of dual-purpose trainer Alan Swinbank at Market Rasen on January 20.
