Jack Lander and his team of helpers will be doing a bucket collection after race four at Newmarket on Saturday by the premier, grandstand and family enclosure gates.
Eleven-year-old schoolboy Lander, who dreams of becoming a professional jump jockey one day, is raising money for the Injured Jockeys Fund and Racing Welfare by participating in a 161-mile charity walk from Newmarket to Jack Berry House, Malton, starting on July 23.
He aims to reach his Malton destination eight days later, covering an average of 20 miles per day.
Lander has already done a similar walk from Stratford racecourse to Oaksey House which raised £13,700.
