Saturday ITV Racing Tips
Racing Post expert, Stuart Redding, picks his best bets for for an action packed Saturday in a bid to help you find more winners.
Golden Horde can enhance the great record of Commonwealth Cup victors in Newmarket’s big sprint. A progressive juvenile campaign ended with a close second in the Middle Park Stakes and he looked better than ever when reappearing at Royal Ascot, as he hit the front at half-way and never really looked like getting beaten.
Clive Cox’s charge goes on any ground and is fully effective on undulating tracks so everything is in place for another big effort.
Melnikova made a good impression at Kempton in August, hitting the front on the run to the line. She didn’t match that second time out but she has been given a typically patient preparation by her master trainer and a mark of 83 looks pretty lenient for his handicap debut.

The Racing Post experts make their selections for the competition.
Race 1 - 14:05 Ascot
Several runners are open to further improvement, not least Melnikova who looks just the type to do well for Sir Michael Stoute this season and could prove very well handicapped off 83.
Race 2 - 14:25 Newmarket
This may go to Odyssey Girl who ran well on the AW last Saturday and looks tempting off 4lb lower back on turf, faced with a more suitable scenario than in the Sandringham two outings ago.
Race 3 - 14:40 Ascot
All of these could still possess potential, but Carlos Felix, who was slowly away over 1m last time, is a dark horse to take very seriously and he gets the vote.
Race 4 - 15:00 Newmarket
Most of these have shown significant promise but Seventh Kingdom was particularly impressive on his debut at Doncaster and the John Gosden-trained Frankel colt is preferred to Godolphin's Master Of The Seas, whose Rowley Mile debut win has been given a boost by the runner-up.
Race 5 - 15:15 Ascot
There should still be more to come from Mohaather, who had a nightmare trip in the Queen Anne and is much better than the bare result suggests.
Race 6 - 15:35 Newmarket
3yos have won the last three runnings which bodes well for Golden Horde, who won the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot in fine style.
Race 7 - 16:10 Newmarket
Unexposed 4yo Mutamaadik fared much the best of the centre group when third to Motakhayyel in the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot and can gain compensation here.
