The Queen's bloodstock and racing adviser John Warren has given some insight into how the Queen has coped without racing in recent months – and it is good to know the Racing Post has played its part.

Speaking on ITV's Opening Show, Warren was asked if the Queen has enjoyed watching ITV Racing and replied: "She has. She gets tremendous pleasure from the in-depth reading of the Racing Post in the morning and being able to enjoy your coverage.

"It's really helped her through these times when she's normally having to meet and see people – this has given her a little opportunity to do what she loves and get great enjoyment out of watching the racing."

The Queen has enjoyed plenty of success since the resumption of racing in June, particularly with Tactical, who on Thursday followed up his Royal Ascot victory in the Windsor Castle Stakes with success in the Group 2 Tattersalls July Stakes at Newmarket.

The talented two-year-old could next run in the Darley Prix Morny at Deauville on August 23.

The Queen enjoyed her best season on the Flat in Britain last year with 29 winners from 147 runners and £542,543 in prize-money. This year she already has had six winners from 50 runners.

Aside from Tactical, she has another Group-class performer in the Sir Michael Stoute-trained First Receiver who, after winning on his seasonal reappearance, finished runner-up in the Group 3 Hampton Court Stakes.
