Doncaster and Huntingdon to inspect for Thursday's meetings due to threat of low temperatures

Doncaster and Huntingdon's meetings on Thursday must pass raceday inspections due to the threat of low overnight temperatures.

The South Yorkshire track is raceable, but temperatures could dip to as low as -2C on Wednesday night before rising above freezing during in the morning. 

While temperatures are set to reach 7C by the time the seven-race card begins at 1pm, there is also set to be fog around in the morning and officials will assess conditions at 7.30am.

At Huntingdon, an 8am inspection has been called with sub-zero temperatures forecast overnight.

It could reach as low as -2C at the Cambridgeshire track, with frost covers put down on fence take off and landings and other vulnerable areas, with temperatures set to rise to 7C during the day.

It is set to stage two Listed contests including the Sidney Banks Memorial Novices' Hurdle (1.45), which was won by Shishkin five years ago, and the Lady Protectress Mares' Chase (2.20).
