Would you be a backer or a layer of Mister Fisher at 16-1 for the Ryanair Chase?

Our team on the Peterborough Chase winner's Cheltenham Festival odds

'If you're backing him make it each-way'

I'd be a backer at 16-1, partly because Mister Fisher will have no other target at the Cheltenham Festival. He was well placed in the Peterborough and, the last aside, jumped a lot better than Kalashnikov, which takes the edge off an otherwise fairly taking success. He is probably a mid-160s horse and will need to improve a little further to be placed in the Ryanair. He may well find that much, so if you're backing him make it each-way.

Race report: 'He'd be a great spin' – Nico de Boinville on Ryanair mover Mister Fisher

'I would be very surprised if Mullins didn't have a few better'

I wouldn't be backing him anyway. He's obviously open to more progress but Mister Fisher will need to improve plenty between now and Cheltenham to get anywhere near last year's winner Min, and that's not even to say that rival will be Willie Mullins' number one hope on the day. I would be very surprised if Mullins didn't have a few better candidates for the race, while Samcro shouldn't be forgotten either.

'He will need to find plenty more to match Min'

I would not be backing him. Despite now being a 160-rated horse, he is inferior to the likely Irish contingent for the race this season and he will need to find plenty more to match the RPR of 173 Min registered in the Ryanair last March. Min looks to be the one they have to beat again, but I would not discount Samcro or Melon either – they both finished well ahead of Mister Fisher when they clashed in the Marsh Novices' Chase last season.
