'Why not roll the dice' - Tom Clover eyes bigger prizes for Jumbeau
Tuesday: Brighton
Tom Clover is planning to "roll the dice" with two-year-old Jumbeau, who won on his debut in the 5½f novice contest under Hayley Turner.
She could be aimed at the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury on July 16 after finishing a length and three-quarters clear of Mustango.
"She has great strength and is in the Super Sprint off a really low weight," Clover said. "If she were to get there then hopefully Hayley can ride because it would be a nice fit.
"What is the point in going for another novice under a penalty? If you have a filly who has won on her debut then why not roll the dice and go for something better. We have the Super Sprint as backup."
It was Clover's fourth win from his last six runners and the trainer added: "We have 12 winners and it's nice to have some two-year-olds coming through because my record with them is not great.
"We want to be at the big days. We want to be at Royal Ascot, so hopefully we can do that and get some big winners."
A day to remember
John Gallagher and Darragh Keenan completed a 125-1 double on the card, headlined by Batchelor Boy winning the 7f handicap.
The double was secured in the 1m2f handicap when Junoesque registered a seventh course win from 14 starts.
In the following 1m2f fillies' handicap, the George Boughey-trained Mystic Wells made all the running to score under Ben Curtis.
