'We keep saying he'll have a break but he keeps on winning' - Chemical Warfare strikes again for David Pipe
David Pipe hailed Chemical Warfare as a "revelation" after he registered a sixth victory of the season in the feature 2m7½f handicap chase.
On his 11th start for the yard since joining from Tjade Collier, the Sendemon-owned seven-year-old made all to justify 5-6 favouritism, finishing three and a half lengths clear of chief market rival Nothin To Ask.
It was a second course-and-distance success for Chemical Warfare, and Pipe said: "We keep saying he'll have a break, but he keeps on winning. If every horse did that in my yard every year it'd be an easy job.
"He thrives on his work and food, and we've placed him well, but he's got to go and do it. His owners are from the north and they were all there, so it's fantastic for them – he's been a revelation since he came here."
It was a second win in as many days for Pipe, who saddled King Turgeon to victory in the 3m2f handicap chase at Cheltenham on Friday.
Big-price double
Jockey Alan Doyle completed a 208-1 double courtesy of 10-1 shot Cave Hill’s victory in the 2m4½f handicap hurdle and Mister Smarty, who struck at 18-1 in the 2m1f handicap hurdle.
Progressive winner
It's All About You completed a hat-trick for Jennie Candlish when making a successful debut over hurdles in the 2m1f maiden event.
