'Watching that was three or four minutes of hell' - Don't Mind If I Do gets off the mark for Alan King
Don't Mind If I Do confirmed himself a smart prospect when bolting up by 15 lengths in the 1m7f maiden hurdle.
Second to the highly touted Regent's Stroll in a bumper in March, the Alan King-trained four-year-old was still a touch green but pulled away after the last to score comfortably under Tom Cannon.
"We've just crept away very quietly with him. He only had the one run in the sales race last season and bumped into a good horse of Olly's [Murphy] at Warwick last time," King told Racing TV.
"To be honest with you, watching that was three or four minutes of hell, but he's got the job done and would've learned again. It's just good to get it out the way; we had an odds-on shot beaten at Doncaster on Saturday, so you can't just turn up and think you're going to win.
"Rupert's [Anton] had three horses now and they've all won. He's a great supporter, but thank goodness it's out of the way – he's been walking the box for the last 48 hours!
"He's a hell of a height when you stand into him and he's not a horse I'll rush back. I'll speak to Rupert and give him a month or so, then go somewhere with a penalty I would imagine."
West wins again
West Orchard made it three wins from his last four with a game victory under Caoilin Quinn in the 3m1f conditional jockeys' handicap chase.
Dunstall finally delivers
The Tom George-trained Dunstall Rambler made it 14th time lucky when securing his first success under rules in the 1m7½f novice handicap chase.
