Warren Greatrex hot run continues as Margaret's Legacy and Land of Moon land double
Warren Greatrex's hot run of form continued with a double on the card, including when Margaret's Legacy made a fine stable debut in the feature 2m4½f handicap chase.
The seven-year-old was runner-up on his final run for Tim Vaughan in January but made the perfect start for the Grade 1-winning trainer with a six-length success under Harry Bannister.
Greatrex and Bannister also struck with Land Of Moon in the opening division of the 2m maiden hurdle, with the yard operating at a 28 per cent strike-rate in the past fortnight.
"The form's great," Greatrex said. "They seem to be in good health and it's our fourth season in the yard where we're at now and the facilities cater for every horse. We've got some good young horses too, so it's onwards and upwards."
On his winners, the trainer added: "Margaret's Legacy had been doing plenty of work in the swimming pool and on the treadmill. He's a nice horse and we thought the ground might not suit, but he went through it lovely.
"Land Of Moon was a very raw horse and a bit bolshy, but he's learning all the time. We hope he's got a bright future."
Bannister completed an 85-1 treble on the Toby Lawes-trained Job in the 3m½f handicap hurdle.
Skelton strikes for old and new
The in-form Harry Skelton rode a winner for old boss Paul Nicholls on Bond Broker in division two of the 2m maiden hurdle.
Skelton also struck on In The Age in the 2m bumper for brother Dan to take his strike-rate in the past fortnight to 32 per cent.
