'They're coming good at the best time possible' - Hannon keeps good form going
Sunday: Doncaster
On the eve of Royal Ascot, Richard Hannon believes his horses are hitting form at just the right time after Laasudood struck on his second start for the yard.
The three-year-old colt, who joined Hannon’s Wiltshire yard from Sir Michael Stoute, finished a length and a quarter clear of the Charlie Hills-trained Roxzoff in the 1m handicap.
"He's a very nice horse," Hannon said. "He was unlucky at Nottingham last time out, but he won well today and hopefully he's on the upgrade now."
The trainer, who recorded an across-the-card double with Minnetonka winning at Salisbury, is set to have another solid team heading to Royal Ascot.
"Normally our horses come to form in May and when it comes to Royal Ascot they start drying up," he said. "However, this year they've taken a while to come right, and now they're coming good at the best time possible."
On the options available for Laasudood, Hannon added: "The Golden Mile at Goodwood is a nice race for him, but there could be something for him at the July meeting as well."
Buick double
William Buick continued his impressive form with a double, headlined by Modern Dancer winning on his debut in the 7f juvenile maiden. The Godolphin-owned son of Kingman scored by half a length from Hope You Can Run.
Buick landed his second win on the Sir Michael Stoute-trained three-year-old Real Dream in the 1m4f maiden, finishing a length and a quarter clear of Thundering.
