Cieren Fallon and Roger Teal understandably grabbed the July Cup headlines but don't forget Oxted. He's a seriously talented young sprinter improving at a rate of knots.

Always up with the pace with Royal Ascot Group 1 winners Golden Horde and Hello Youmzain, the four-year-old bossed the race a good three furlongs out and never looked like being caught.

To win with such authority on a first try at the highest level bodes well for the future. So does clocking a time just 0.28secs outside the course record on a softish surface.
