'The better the race, the further she wins' - Sky Majesty the highlight of William Haggas juvenile double
Heavy ground proved no bar to success for William Haggas at Chantilly, where Sky Majesty and Yaroogh completed a juvenile stakes-race double.
Christophe Soumillon made the most of the rail as Sky Majesty added to her win in the Firth of Clyde to win by a length and a quarter from Cheveley Park runner-up Daylight.
"Christophe said she didn’t relish the ground, but she handled it," said Haggas. "She did really well and the second filly, whether or not she ran to her best I don’t know, but she’s got some very good form.
"I don’t think she does a lot [when she gets to the front]. She won a nose in her maiden and then a neck in the Firth of Clyde, so it looks like the better the race, the further she wins."
Yaroogh was taken wide off the bend by Maxime Guyon in the Listed Prix Saraca over seven furlongs and powered away to win by three and a half lengths from Scandalo.
"Yaroogh loved the ground and he won well," said Haggas. "He’ll either go for the Horris Hill in two weeks or go back to France for the Prix Herod at Saint-Cloud with a penalty. He’ll definitely run again but Sky Majesty will be put away."
