Teenager Ryan Sexton makes dream start to career with 22-1 winner on first ride
It was a dream afternoon for 16-year-old apprentice Ryan Sexton at Limerick on Friday, when the jockey made his first ride under rules a winning one aboard Peter Fahey's Stellaire Enfant.
A graduate of the pony racing circuit, Sexton is brother of 2013-14 champion conditional rider Kevin, who has been enjoying a memorable winning run with Fahey's stable star Peregrine Run in recent seasons.
Almost a year to the day he recorded his biggest pony racing success in the Bundoran Derby, the polished rider was thrilled to make the breakthrough at his first attempt under rules.
