Stephen Hanlon and Will Kennedy continue to dig deep for winners

Diggin Deep did just that to continue the success story of young Irish trainer Stephen Hanlon and winning rider Will Kennedy when getting the verdict in a photo-finish to the 3m½f handicap hurdle.

Kennedy, who made the six-hour trip up north for his sole ride on the card, was winning on the nine-year-old for the third time from five runs together. which also accounts for Hanlon's career score.

Hanlon, at 24 one of the youngest trainers around in just his second year on the Curragh, where Kennedy also hails from, has transformed Diggin Deep, who he also owns, after 21 unsuccessful attempts for previous connections.
