The old guard showed there's life left in the legs as hours after General Tufto struck on his 100th career start, it was the turn of 12-year-old Stand Guard to sparkle on Kempton's Polytrack with a commanding victory in the 1m4f handicap.
The John Butler-trained veteran had been off the track for eight months and had not won since March 2014 when he scored at Southwell.
