A double for Ger Lyons and Juddmonte left champion jockey Colin Keane on 99 winners for the season, one short of the fastest century.

It also left him poised to smash Joseph O'Brien's seasonal record of 126 winners in 2013.

The Round Tower Stakes performance of the unbeaten Sacred Bridge in leaving Keane one winner short of his century was spectacular.

The daughter of Bated Breath quickened in the last furlong to leave her Group 3 rivals toiling as she beat stablemate Geocentric by three and three-quarter lengths.

"That was very impressive," said Ger Lyons' assistant and brother Shane. "She'll freshen up now and go straight for the Cheveley Park. She has to step up again for that, but every race she's had she's stepped up.

"She's an absolute diamond and she's the sort of horse that you get up in the morning for. Colin was very impressed with her. We'll worry about getting a trip next year."

The filly hardened to 6-1 (from 12s) for the Cheveley Park with Paddy Power.

By contrast, the performance of 16-1 shot Acanella in landing the Group 3 Snow Fairy Fillies Stakes ranked as a bonus. Keane brought her with a well-timed challenge to lead a furlong out and she found plenty to see off the challenge of last year's Matron Stakes winner Champers Elysees by three-quarters of a length.

The filly had been winless since landing a Leopardstown maiden in April, but this was not entirely unexpected.

Shane Lyons said: "She did what we had been hoping all year. But she's a big filly and only growing into herself; she's one for next year. Today is the first day she did everything right. She broke well, travelled well and she loved that ground."

And the rider? "He's a machine!"

Lagoon swamps favourite

The Jessica Harrington-trained favourite Magical Lagoon turned the tables on her Naas conqueror Albula late on to land the Group 3 Flame Of Tara Stakes, the first of the Pattern races on the night.

The daughter of Galileo was the 11-5 favourite for a Naas maiden earlier in the month, but could finish only fourth to the impressive Albula. This time, as a 9-2 shot, she stayed on strongly to deny the 4-5 favourite, who had looked all over the winner under Declan McDonogh inside the final furlong.

When asked if that was more like what was expected at Naas, the winning trainer nodded enthusiastically.

"She was a bit clueless at Naas," he said. "She needed the mile. She's in the Fillies' Mile and might just go for that. She's an Oaks filly for next year."

Harrington and owner Zhang Yuesheng went on to complete a big-race double when 28-1 shot Bopedro landed the Paddy Power Irish Cambridgeshire.

Rider Conor Hoban got an ideal run on the far rail as his mount drew clear inside the last to beat Moddy Poddle by two and a half lengths.
