'She's got a lovely mind and a turn of foot' - Exactly the highlight of treble for Wayne Lordan

Supersub Wayne Lordan scored a hat-trick on a card dominated by Aidan O'Brien, who had a 169-1 four-timer which included an explosive performance from the filly Exactly in the Group 3 Killavullan Stakes.

With Ryan Moore on duty at Ascot, Lordan continued his association with Exactly. He was on board when she was a close-up third behind Vertical Blue and Zarigana in the Prix Marcel Boussac on Arc day at Longchamp and despite this being her seventh start of the season, she looked better than ever.

Drifting out to 11-10 from odds-on at the off, Exactly was sent through to the front and powered up the home straight to beat stablemate Antelope Canyon by six and a half lengths.

Lordan is her biggest fan and said: "She's a very straightforward filly and hasn't put a foot wrong all year. She's been meeting Bedtime Story and Lake Victoria, so she's done nothing wrong. She's got a lovely mind and she's very easy to do anything with. Every day when you ride her at home, she just does her usual routine and saves it all for the track. She has a turn of foot and I would say a mile is her trip at the moment anyway."

Lordan has earlier won the mile fillies' maiden on 2-5 favourite Minnie Hauk and the mile maiden for colts and geldings on Serious Contender.

The other Ballydoyle-based winner on the card was Twain, a newcomer by Wootton Bassett and a half-brother to smart juvenile Just Wonderful. He was allowed to go off at 28-1 in the 7f maiden under Mark Crehan, but obviously shows a lot more on the track than he does at home as he bolted up by six lengths after scooting into a huge lead off the home turn.

Punters sigh after 40-1 shocker

There was also a massive shock in the Group 3 Mongey Communications Eyrefield Stakes as Sigh No More, the 40-1 outsider of the entire field, swooped late down the outside under a perfectly timed challenge from Mikey Sheehy.

Having won a Galway maiden back in August after hitting the maximum in-running price of 999-1, Sigh No More again came from a long way back but was nicely on top at the line with a length and three-quarters to spare over Trinity College.

Winning trainer Joseph O'Brien said: "She got a lovely ride from Mikey and the race set up very well. She's as tough as nails, she's progressive and she's never run a bad race. I'm delighted to win a big pot and a Group race for a big ownership group, a lot of them are here today.

"There's a big team of people in the filly and everyone will get a great kick out of it. She's been a model of consistency. We've had a great year with her so far and it's great to finish it off with a big win."
