'She gave me a good feel' - Juddmonte's Arolla maintains unbeaten record with wide-margin romp
Arolla emerged as another top prospect for Juddmonte as the Kingman three-year-old skipped clear with ease to defy a penalty and remain unbeaten in the 7f novice stakes.
Trevor Whelan had to only ask for minimum effort from the filly who surged clear of A Major Payne to win by eight and a half lengths. It comes after the 11-4 shot scored by a wide margin at Ffos Las in July.
Whelan told Racing TV: "She done it well and travelled nicely. She was a bit keen so I pulled her back and let her settle but she went through the race nicely and won pretty easily.
"I don't think she minds cut in the ground and it was very testing. She picked up really well and gave me a good feel. I felt like I had plenty left even crossing the line. She pricked her ears when she hit the front and got a bit lonely so should take another step forward."
Mixed results
Hector Crouch and Ed Dunlop enjoyed a 50-1 surprise as Perfect Sight surged home for an unlikely eight-length success in the mile nursery.
The pair though were out of luck in the following 6f novice stakes, with 9-4 chance My Mate Beattie deemed to have suffered interference from winner Layla Liz. The stewards did not change the result after a lengthy enquiry but jockey Laura Coughlan was hit with a three-day ban for careless riding.
