'She could almost definitely step into Listed grade' - Telepathique continues rise with victory under Harry Cobden
Telepathique confirmed herself a mare on the up when making light of a 13b rise for her latest win to land the 2m novice handicap chase under Harry Cobden.
The Lucy Wadham-trained six-year-old won by 11 lengths when making a successful chasing debut in a 2m5f handicap at Fakenham last month and followed up on this drop in trip by four and a quarter lengths from Helnwein, making virtually all under the champion jockey.
"She's very good. I saw we drew 20 lengths-plus clear of the third horse, and I think the second horse is very good in his own right, but this mare just keeps on improving," Cobden told Racing TV.
"She went up 13lb last time for winning around Fakenham, but she's very tough, jumps well, and she could almost definitely step up into Listed grade to get a bit of black type now.
"She obviously stays well, as she won over two and a half [miles] last time, but she's got enough boot for two – she's got plenty of options. There was a nice little GBB bonus there, which every jockey and trainer loves to win, and it's fantastic for the mares' programme."
Cobden was completing a double having earlier won on the Emma Lavelle-trained Ma Shantou in the 2m5f novice hurdle.
Pritchard continues fine form
Conditional jockey Callum Pritchard continued his fine spell when scoring in the colours of JP McManus for the first time on Solar System in the opening 2m3f handicap hurdle.
That was the first leg of a double for the training combination of Philip Hobbs and Johnson White, whose Paddy In The Caddy landed the 2m handicap chase under Sean Houlihan.
Victories for Heard That and stable debutant Ikarak meant local trainer Olly Murphy and Sean Bowen also came away with a double.
