Prix du Cadran on the cards after Princess Zoe becomes Galway royalty
What a summer it has been for Princess Zoe, carrying the colours of legendary Wexford owner Paddy Kehoe and trained by Tony Mullins, as the feature premier handicap provided the daughter of Jukebox Jury with her third big win in two weeks - and her second win of the 2020 Galway festival.
Having impressed with the quality of her performance in the 2m amateur handicap on Monday, the 7lb winner's penalty and the drop to 1m4f was sure to provide a sterner test, but with rider Joey Sheridan claiming 5lb and riding her with such confidence, the writing looked on the wall for her opponents before the straight.
Her principal rival was the three-year-old Emperor Of The Sun, who battled well, but the mare oozed class and only had to be pushed out by Sheridan to score.
