Our experts pick out the horses who impressed most on 2,000 Guineas day
Far Above had the advantage of the rail in the Palace House Stakes but he was still highly impressive in seeing off 11 rivals in what looked a decent race.
He was a bit awkward leaving the stalls but showed good pace to recover from that quickly, and after travelling strongly pulled out more than enough in the closing stages to repel Judicial.
Encouragingly for potential longer-term targets like the Prix de l’Abbaye, his trainer reports him better on softer ground, while there is the more immediate prospect of a clash with Battaash in the King George Stakes at Goodwood. Battaash has won that for the last three years and it would be fascinating to see how Far Above stacks up against him.

Classic Assessor: no question Kameko has strong credentials for Derby after striking success
Lots of things went wrong for Kameko during the Guineas, yet he still managed to land the Classic over a trip which is probably on the sharp side for him now.
The million-dollar question is whether he will stay the 1m4f of the Derby? Let’s put it this way, it’s difficult not to see him hard on the bridle passing the two-furlong pole at Epsom and, if that proves to be the case, he’s likely to go at least a couple of lengths clear before any potential stamina concerns kick in.
He looks a well-balanced colt who should handle the gradients of Epsom, and a Classic double is firmly on the cards.
Richard Birch, tipster
Aside from Kameko, I can see Mishriff not getting the credit he deserves for his convincing win in the Newmarket Stakes.
John Gosden is going to have another summer juggling promising three-year-olds and the way this horse sauntered past Cherokee Trail and Volkan Star suggests he won't be far from the top of the pile.
He tackles his races with the perfect mix of enthusiasm and professionalism and I'm excited to see what he can do against better opposition.
The Hampton Court Stakes looks the perfect fit for him now, but don't be surprised to see him tackle races abroad once restrictions are lifted given he already has a stamp on his passport.
