Odds of 7-4 about Apple's Jade for Mares' Hurdle would be huge on the day

Apple's Jade's performance in slamming Nichols Canyon by nine lengths in the Hatton's Grade Hurdle should not be underestimated.

Willie Mullins' redoubtable operator has an excellent record first time out, most notably claiming Faugheen's scalp in the 2015 Morgiana Hurdle. Apple's Jade had the benefit of a run here and she was receiving 7lb, with just 8lb between them on official ratings.

She was entitled to win, but the emphatic manner in which she did it left you pondering just how good she might be. Connections have been bold enough in pitching her into open company and her second Hatton's Grace victory was her fourth Grade 1 success in that realm.
