No 'wow' factor but RPR confirms Baaeed's effortless superiority in the division
In what was probably his last performance at a mile, Baaeed did no more than required to maintain his unbeaten record in the Qatar Sussex Stakes, and while the performance lacked a 'wow' factor an RPR of 126+ is still above par for the Goodwood Group 1.
With the pace-setting Bathrat Leon seeming to confirm the merit of his shock win on dirt in the Godolphin Mile, and fifth-placed Angel Bleu running close to form on ground faster than ideal, the overall form rates only average for the race behind the exceptional winner.
Given the runner-up Modern Games improved to a mark of 119 there might be a case for thinking the leading three-year-old milers could give Baaeed something to think about, but on form in the book he stands head and shoulders above the rest at the trip and his future has looked to lie over further for some time.
