Mums Tipple posts 'monstrous' figure of 119 with runaway York victory

Mums Tipple produced a superb effort to rout the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Stakes field at York and posted the second-best effort by a two-year-old this year.

The son of Footstepsinthesand was in total control from before halfway and passed the line 11 lengths clear to earn a Racing Post Rating of 119. With no form anchor and a rapid time recorded, his rating not only appears fully justified, but might even underestimate him.

A Racing Post Rating of 119 is a monstrous figure in a non-Pattern race – in the past 15 years only two juveniles have rated 114 or higher outside Listed and Group races, Frankel (115) and Tiggy Wiggy (117).
