Kel Histoire into 20-1 for Supreme after making stylish start for Willie Mullins and JP McManus
Willie Mullins is finally starting to show us some of the finer garments in his wardrobe and his short-priced treble at Cork on Friday was spearheaded by Kel Histoire in the 2m maiden hurdle.
The French recruit was cut to 20-1 (from 33) by Paddy Power for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle afterwards, a race in which the all-conquering Closutton stable already has the 8-1 favourite in Salvator Mundi.
The opener was billed as a straight shootout between the JP McManus-owned Kel Histoire and Henry de Bromhead's Kilgame, in the familiar Robcour colours, but it didn't materialise. Kilgame proved a bitter disappointment in fifth at 15-8.
Kel Histoire, a gelded son of Masked Marvel who cost €200,000, was supported into 4-5 and put the race to bed nicely after the last under a confident Mark Walsh.
Paul Townend was in the saddle for the other two Mullins-trained winners.
Fancy Girl was a wide-margin winner of the 2m4f mares' maiden hurdle, making every yard of the running on the way to a 13-length victory over Full Of Life at odds of 13-8.
The Closutton hat-trick was completed by Spindleberry in the 2m5f mares' beginners' chase. She needed all of Townend's brilliance to get up late and deny Majestic Force, with those who got involved at 8-11 having more of a sweat than they expected.
