Source Code, a half-brother to Derby second Ambiente Friendly, was among four winners for Joseph O’Brien on the eight-race card when gaining a first success in the 7f nursery.

The son of Blue Point sported first-time blinkers and scored by a length and a half on his handicap debut under Dylan Browne McMonagle. He was a 100th domestic winner of the year on the Flat for O’Brien.

Browne McMonagle said on Racing TV: “He’s well bred and has just taken a bit of time to come to hand.

“He picked up well for pressure and was well on top at the line. The blinkers improved him a lot and hopefully he can keep going the right way. He’ll have no bother going up to a mile even though he’s not short of speed.”

Source Code was the second leg of a treble for the rider, who struck on Tribal Nation and Dollerina in 7f maidens. The Wayne Hassett-ridden Annie’s Angel initiated the 471-1 four-timer for O’Brien in the 1m½f fillies’ maiden.

O’Brien was denied a five-timer when Soul Of Spain weakened late on to finish third to the Willie McCreery-trained Fairy Wings under Nathan Crosse in the 1m4f handicap.

Gambled-on King delivers

Rhythm King was as big as 20-1 in the morning and justified support to strike at 8-1 in the 7f handicap.

The Mark Fahey-trained four-year-old relished the heavy ground and prevailed by a length and three-quarters under Gavin Ryan.
