'It makes your job easy' – impressive juvenile pair the highlight of treble for local boy Cieren Fallon
Sprint Cup-winning jockey Cieren Fallon's terrific season at his local track continued with a treble, including on two highly impressive debut winners for his boss William Haggas.
Fallon, who grew up in Wigan, got off the mark when Supermodel stormed to a three-and-a-half-length success in the 7f fillies' novice before Nardra was even more impressive when scoring by eight and a half lengths in the 6f novice.
Both winners are owned by Saeed Suhail, and Nardra had to endure a lengthy delay after a medical emergency at the track meant they had to return to the paddock before going back to the start.
Haggas's wife and assistant Maureen told Racing TV: "I think they're both nice fillies. Considering it was all quite difficult, I thought Nardra behaved quite well.
"It's an interesting time of the year to get these two-year-olds out and Mr Suhail has been really patient and let us take our time."
On Supermodel, Fallon said: "She gave me a really nice feel and I had a lot of horse underneath me. I love Haydock and when you're riding horses like her it makes your job easy."
Fallon completed his three-timer on the Steph Hollinshead-trained Myal in the second division of the 7f handicap.
In-form jockey
Tom Kiely-Marshall's red-hot form in the saddle continued in the opening 1m2½f apprentice handicap on Dandy's Angel.
The half-length success took Kiely-Marshall's strike-rate in the last fortnight to a red-hot 33 per cent, while this was also his third winner in a row.
