Successful Flat jockey Joshua Bryan made his mark over jumps with his first winner in that sphere on Musique De Fee in the 3m3f handicap hurdle.
Bryan won the 2021 John Smith's Cup on Johnny Drama for Andrew Balding and had 159 victories on the Flat, but made his jumps breakthrough at the 11th attempt on the Georgina Nicholls-trained six-year-old.
He told Sky Sports Racing: "I rode all summer last year doing 9st 2lb for Andrew and Archie Watson, and it got to about the end of September when I said to myself 'I can't keep doing this'.
"I couldn't see myself doing it five years down the line, but I'm still young and wanted to ride. I woke up and wanted to change it as I couldn't keep on going like that."
A cousin of Sean and James Bowen and now based with Olly Murphy, Bryan hopes to build on his success after scoring on Musique De Fee, who backed up her wide-margin win at Hereford this month.
He added: "It went very smoothly. I'm ticking along nicely and now we've had a winner and got round safely, we can get a roll on during the spring and summer."
Scorsese in control
Neil Mulholland enhanced his fine track record with Scorsese's success in the 2m4f novice handicap hurdle.
The 5-6 favourite's seven-and-a-half-length win took the trainer's career course strike-rate to 39 per cent.
Pie on a high
Evergreen 12-year-old The Paddy Pie completed a hat-trick when landing the 2m5f handicap chase under Jack Power for joint-trainers Joel Parkinson and Sue Smith.
Family affair
Brian Hughes successfully teamed up with wife Lucinda in the 2m1f handicap hurdle with Klitschko. The race was run in memory of popular jockeys valet Paul "Fatty" Renshaw.
