Sean Dylan Bowen got soaked on a sunny afternoon in North Yorkshire after holding off a late rally by Joe Leavy to clinch the apprentices' title.
His fellow jockeys drenched him with celebratory buckets of water at Catterick when his rival's odds-on defeat in the fourth race meant he could not be caught.
The pair had been battling it out at the top of the table for a month and Leavy reduced the gap to two winners when landing the apprentice handicap on Morandi Second.
