'I couldn't be any happier' - Kaiya Fraser making most of fruitful link-ups to continue flying spell

Kaiya Fraser continued to strengthen his association with Rebecca Menzies when the pair combined to land the 6f handicap with Game Breaker.

Victory on the three-year-old, who scored over course and distance under Fraser three weeks ago, was the young jockey's sixth winner from 13 rides for Menzies and took his tally to 21 winners for the year.

Fraser was completing a double having earlier guided the Jim Goldie-trained Zumaaty, who had been winless since February 2023, to a comfortable success in the opening 1m½f apprentice handicap.

Fraser, whose nine winners in the last fortnight have come at a 30 per cent strike-rate, said: "It's going well at the moment and I couldn't be any happier."

Goldie's day also got better when he saddled the one-two in the 1m4f handicap, in which the Paul Mulrennan-ridden Tafsir gained his fourth course success at the expense of stablemate Soowaih, who was partnered by Amie Waugh.

Third time's a charm

Thecla bumped into a well-supported newcomer at Carlisle two weeks ago but she made no mistake in justifying favouritism to make it third time lucky in the 6f maiden.

Jockey Tom Eaves told Racing TV: "I think Thecla is getting quicker and I think she'll improve for going back to five [furlongs]. She has plenty of natural speed and I was hanging on to her for as long as I could. She has a good attitude and is a nice filly."
