'He's one of the best four-year-olds in Ireland right now'
Our experts pick out which horses best enhanced their claims for the big races to come from the fixtures at Fairyhouse, Warwick and Market Rasen
'I can imagine him tanking through a Betfair Hurdle'
There were a couple of clues for the remainder of the season. Next Destination looks an ideal type for the National Hunt Chase, while I think the Pertemps qualifier won by Imperial Alcazar was a strong running.
Edwardstone enhanced his claims for the Betfair Hurdle but he could face another of Saturday's winners at Newbury.
I was surprised that connections decided to run Sky Pirate at Warwick given he had already gone up enough to get into the Grand Annual, but he won again with any amount in hand from the similarly progressive Amoola Gold.
He is rated 140 over hurdles and I can imagine him tanking through a Betfair Hurdle. The 14-1 with William Hill looks generous.

'He's one of the best four-year-olds in Ireland'
I think we saw two nice horses in the juvenile hurdle at Fairyhouse. The winner, Teahupoo, is a real tough cookie, but I think he can be considered a shade lucky as odds-on favourite Youmdor looked to have his measure when coming down at the last.

Given the way Teahupoo kicked away from some solid yardsticks in second and third, victory wasn’t guaranteed for Youmdor, but he was certainly poised at the time.
Having hosed up in a smart time at Gowran previously, I’d say he’s one of the best four-year-olds in Ireland right now, and hopefully he’s none the worse for his fall as he’s one for the Grade 1s in the spring.

'He promises so much more and has a decent prize in him'
I'll be following Edwardstone wherever he goes next. Reverting to hurdles after unseating on his chase debut, he got back on track at Market Rasen with a decisive victory.
It was a weak enough race, but Edwardstone will have hated the heavy ground and should have much more to give on a sounder surface in the spring.
His style of racing is suited to being buried away in a big field and he has a decent prize in him, with the Betfair Hurdle, Cheltenham and Aintree all likely to be on his radar.
