'He was entitled to do that' - Polyphonic a Fred Winter prospect for Harris
Monday: Fontwell
Polyphonic entered considerations for the Cheltenham Festival after he stormed to a maiden success over hurdles for Milton Harris.
The three-year-old stuck on the second time of asking to usurp the well-back favourite Aviles in the 2m1½f juvenile content under Mitchell Bastyan.
The son of Sea The Stars was keen in the early stages, but got to grips with the contest three out and motored home to score by ten lengths.
Harris said: "He was entitled to do that. He was an 80-rated Flat horse, he just needed the experience last time out at Leicester.
"He had earplugs in today which helped him relax a bit better and I suspect he's better than the level today. Gary Moore's horse [Aviles] is probably a good yardstick off a mark of around 107. We're not going to win the Triumph Hurdle but he might make a bit of a Fred Winter horse.
"We'll go and try and win a novice with a penalty and then I'd say mid-term we'd be looking at something like the Fred Winter.
"You'd be disappointed if he didn't turn into a 120-plus hurdler, so that would get you in the frame for that kind of race."
Yorksea sails clear
Yorksea justified favouritism with a stylish victory in the feature 2m handicap hurdle under Niall Houlihan, who picked up the ride after stablemate Teddy Blue was ruled out due to a temperature.
The favourite travelled smoothly before powering six-and-a-half-lengths clear of Pyramid Place, delivering a Boxing Day double for both jockey and trainer Gary Moore following success in the novice hurdle with Givega.
