'He had resilience in battle' - Cheltenham next for the Queen's Reach For The Moon as resurgence continues

The Queen's Reach For The Moon teed up a trip to Cheltenham this month when he continued his resurgence in the 2m1½f novice hurdle.

A high-class juvenile for the late Queen Elizabeth II, the five-year-old had not won since the 2021 Solario Stakes before an easy victory at Worcester last time. He backed that up with a battling success under Gavin Sheehan by a head.

Winning trainer Jamie Snowden said: "It's great to see him do it again under a penalty. He won unchallenged last time, so it was lovely to see how much resilience he had in battle.

"He hadn't had much luck since we've had him and he got carried out at Stratford in July, but he's got his confidence now. He'll hopefully be going to Cheltenham next."

Reach For The Moon was jointly owned by Sir Chips Keswick before his death this year, but will still run under his name alongside the Queen.

Snowden added: "Chips was a wonderful supporter of mine. You Wear It Well will still run in his name too, so we have two lovely horses this season in his honour."

Terrific form

Nigel Twiston-Davies's red-hot form rolled on with a double.

Stream Of Stars justified odds-on favouritism in the 2m1½f handicap hurdle and Lord Of Cheshire took the 2m3½f handicap chase, both ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies. The yard's strike-rate in the last fortnight is 44 per cent.

Track trainer

Rogue King enhanced James Owen's strike-rate at the track to 35 per cent with an easy victory in the 2m1½f juvenile hurdle.
