The Doncaster stewards amended the order of the placed runners in the Cazoo St Leger after Frankie Dettori's mount Haskoy caused interference to Giavellotto two furlongs from home.
Haskoy, who was supplemented into the race at a cost of £50,000, was second past the post behind Eldar Eldarov but was disqualified and placed fourth, with New London and Giavellotto promoted a place to second and third respectively.
Dettori was banned for five days for careless riding, but he will be free to ride in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on October 2 as the suspension runs from October 3-7 due to there being no Flat racing in Britain on the day of the Arc.
