It has been a long time between drinks for Kilkishen who was without a win since May 2016 but bigger targets now await the nine-year-old after he bridged the gap between victories to claim victory in the 3m1f handicap chase.

Kilkishen opened his account over fences with an impressive performance and a solid display of jumping, beating 9-2 favourite Se Mo Laoch by seven lengths.

The Shark Hanlon-trained son of Oscar made most of the running and the Carlow-based trainer is hoping that Newcastle’s Eider Chase will prove the perfect stamina test.
