Grand National next for Bristol De Mai after running 'absolute belter'

Daryl Jacob is looking forward to a tilt at the Randox Health Grand National with Bristol De Mai after the popular veteran put in another brave performance to chase Native River home in the Cotswold Chase.

Rather than a fourth crack at the Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup, Bristol De Mai looks to be heading straight for Aintree and a first tilt at the National, for which his price ranges between 25-1 and 40-1.

"He's run an absolute belter," said Jacob. "On his day, Native River is a very good horse and a dour stayer. All credit to the winner but I'm pleased with my lad. He's run his heart out and his form is very solid.
