Global Export fights back to claim first chase victory in across-the-card double for Gavin Cromwell

Global Export was forced to do things the hard way but finally recorded a first success over fences in the 2m4½f beginners' chase.

Conor Stone-Walsh was left with plenty to do on the turn for home when the 9-1 shot was denied space by the leading trio of El Champo, Banprionsa and On Lovers Walk, and when the jockey switched to the left he found his door shut again by those in front.

A gap finally appeared heading into the final fence and Global Export proved he was more than up to the task with a bold surge for home to snatch success by a head.

It was victory at the fourth attempt over fences for the Gavin Cromwell-trained six-year-old, and the win was also the second of the day for Cromwell after Triumph hurdle hopeful Hello Neighbour struck at Leopardstown.

Cromwell was denied another winner at the Lisburn track when One Night Standard was defeated by Le Malin in the handicap chase over the same trip.

Entitled success

Air Of Entitlement brought his rules record to two wins from three starts when winning on the bridle under Sean Flanagan in the 2m4f novice hurdle.

The Robcour five-year-old kicked off a double on the card for Henry de Bromhead, which was sealed by Downmexicoway in the 2m1f maiden hurdle.

Notable debut

Foxhunter star Its On The Line was unable to win on his seasonal return when beaten by the David Christie-trained rules debutant Big Interest.

The five-year-old was a 30-length winner of his prior point-to-point start and made a smooth transition into the hunter chase division with a four-and-three-quarter-length success under Barry O'Neill.
